The right fit
How to pick a mobile groomer
A groomer can live close by and still not drive to your street. A few good questions will tell you who fits your pet and your home.
Ask if they come to your street.
Send your ZIP code first, and ask if your street is on their route. Then tell them what you need: a bath, a haircut, a nail trim, or a cat groom. If you have a cat, ask if they do a full groom or just nails.
Tell them about your pet.
Share your pet’s breed, weight, and coat. Say when they last had a groom. Ask what the price covers and what costs extra. Ask if there’s a fee for the drive. If they can’t give a firm price until they see your pet, ask how they’ll check with you before they add more work.
Ask about the van.
Most groomers we list work out of a van or trailer. Ask if the van has its own water and power, or if they need yours. Ask where they’ll park. A driveway, a shared lot, and a busy street all work a little differently.
Talk about how your pet acts.
Tell the groomer how past grooms went. Does your dog hate the dryer? Does your cat hide? Ask what size pets they take, and when they would stop a groom. It’s fine to ask about training and insurance. Our listing doesn’t prove either one.
Know the booking rules.
Ask about deposits, how to cancel, and how to pay. Ask if they’re taking new clients. Keep the price and the date in one place. Book with the groomer, so you know who to call if plans change.
