What a mobile grooming van or trailer costs in 2026

Thinking about starting a mobile grooming business? The van or trailer is the biggest cost. Here are the prices builders post on their own websites.

Short answer: A new grooming van, with the van included, costs about $95,000 to $140,000 from the builders who post prices. A grooming trailer costs much less, about $13,000 to $56,000, but you need a truck to pull it. If you already own a van, one shop lists the grooming setup alone at $30,000.

Van or trailer?

A van is one vehicle. You drive it and groom in it. A trailer costs less, but you need a truck that can tow it, and it takes more room to park. Ask a builder what your truck can safely pull before you buy.

What a new van costs.

Builders often price the van and the grooming setup apart. At Wag’n Tails, the van itself is $57,465 to $74,853 on the models we read, and the grooming setup adds about $63,000 to $66,000. Hanvey lists its grooming setup at $39,994 to $70,970, plus about $55,000 to $64,000 for the van.

Already have a van?

Some shops build only the grooming part. UGroomVans.com lists its conversion at $30,000, and you bring the van. Ask what comes with it, like the tub, table, water tanks, and power.

Used vans.

Few builders post used prices. Wag’n Tails lists used 2023 vans at $112,667 to $124,170, with about 21,000 to 37,000 miles. We didn’t find a builder who posts a price for a used trailer.

Battery or gas generator?

Some vans and trailers run on big batteries instead of a gas generator. They are quieter, but they cost more. Renown’s battery trailer is $55,555. Its basic 7x14 trailer is $22,750. See our guide to water, power, and parking for what each setup needs.

Costs on top of the price.

Tax, title, and delivery are often extra. Hanvey calls its van prices estimates. Sales and rebates change often. Wag’n Tails posted a $4,000 rebate that ends October 31, 2026. Ask for a written total before you pay a deposit.
